Powery Challenges Durham Government Employees to Follow King's Example

Rev. Luke Powery, dean of Duke Chapel, was one of the featured speakers at the Durham City-County government employees' commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr., held Wednesday, Jan. 15, at First Presbyterian Church.

Powery challenged the employees to continue King's work of non-violence to fight injustice.

Other speakers included Mayor Pro-Tempore Cora Cole-McFadden and Michael Page, chair of the county Board of Commissioners.  A government employee choir provided music.
